I was wondering how you add wires to the distribution box or fuse box inside the truck. I am going to add the electric fan and I'm not sure on how to tap into the distribution box. Can anyone who has done this provide me with some how- to knowledge. Thanks in advance!

tapping into the distribution box involves being able to do precise work in a very small area. I recommend finding a midget, genetically altering the midget to be about 50 times smaller and you will have all your problems will be solved...not to mention a very fun pocket buddy.

The best way to tap power from the distribution box (under the hood) is with an external fuse holder. The positive wire from the battery connects to the distribution box with a 3/8" terminal ring. Add your new fuse holder & terminal ring to this connection. I'm not sure how your fan is wired, but usually they draw high current. Make sure the fuse holder wire is the same size (or larger) than the wire you are using for the fan. I'm guessing that it will need a minimum of 10AWG? Check with the manufacturer of the fan.

You can take the distribution box apart and add your own circuits but, I do not recommend it for high current devices. Tapping off the battery cable connection is the safest way.
