Why is it that the front rotors ware so fast. This
is my second pair of rotors and the truck only has 71000 miles. Has anyone notice this or is it just me? Is there a solution to this problem. 98 3.9 reg. cab

Thanks

I replaced my first set of rotors at about 55000. They were already machined at about 28000 along with the rear drums.
I'm at 72000 now and the pulsaton is back.
They just don't make rotors like they used to.

Make sure you don't get those "life time" brake pads because all they are is really hard compounds that wear on the rotor and not the pads. Also the hard compounds provide poorer brake performance than regular or performance pads. Just stay away from "life time" brake pads.

IT ALSO DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH OF HARD BRAKER YOU ARE TOO. LOL

LIKE MOST PEOPLE SAY GIRLS/LADIES BRAKE REALLY AHRD WELL IT IS NOT JUST LADIES GUYS DO IT TO.

DONT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE TO STOP DO IT BEFORE YOU REALLY NEED TO OR LET OFF THE GAS AND VENTALATION IS A GOOD THING FOR THE BRAKES TOO TO MAKE SURE THEY GET PLENTY OF AIR AND DONT HEAT UP.

My rotors did the same as Jer. Cut them at around 25,000 then replaced them at 50,000. Now I have SP performance rotors(cross drilled and slotted) and Hawk kevlar pads. Now my quadcab stops much quicker and if they help that much on my truck the single and ext cab trucks would really see a difference.
