For some strange reason my headlights stopped working on my 94 Dodge Dakota sport. The lamps are fine, they are not damaged. The funny thing is, when i pull the switch for my lights to come on, all the dashboard lights do not come on and the rpm meter gets stuck where it is. I checked the fuses, and they are all fine. I don't know what could possibly be the problem, but if anyone has some ideas, or even a clue as to how much this would cost to fix, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks fellas.

i took the dash off and took the switch apart to check for loose connections, however, i know absolutely nothing about cars, so it was really pointless

I had a similar problem on a 96. All my issues were internal- dash and gauges would not respond, but the headlights worked fine. I noticed that if I turned the dimmer to "Off", the gauges worked. I replaced the headlight switch and the problem went away. The parts guy told me that the switch had been superseded 3 or 4 times. I did go with the factory part.
