Has anyone else noticed that the 2003 Dakotas do not have a gasket across the top of the windshield? The earlier models do so I took it back to the dealer who tried to order it but said it was not listed and this is the way they are made now. Every other dak on the lot was missing it also. I'm wondering if this might cause a leak or rust spot one day. I'm already seeing leaves and debris get stuck in this open gap between the metal and the windshield.

Yeh i have an 04, same problem. Well its not a problem in their eye's. Although if you live in a cold climate, the water will get between there, and freeze. Causing the windshield to lift up over time and allow water to run down behind the dash where you can't notice it. I know this because it happened to mine. Thus once the water got onto thte computer box, it froze the 4x4 system on, turned off the lights, and much more electrical problems. I don't know what they are going to do,

If you are really concerned about it - you
might ask a local ( glass replacement shop )
about a workable gasket !
I just had my windshield replaced on my 95
and the guy had a roll of " gasket material "
which he simply placed around the edge.
The real ' sealer ' is just like caulking compound
which he laid on the glass just inside of the edge!!??
I know you should YELL at Chryco for this blooper
But , this is a " fix "
