This is about the cruise control thing. What do you check for in your vacuume lines if your cruise control doesn't work? And can you go along way with your timing chain knocking?

Just be sure there are no lines off or dry rotted
or craked or broken.

If you have a hand vac pump you can check the
vacume pot itself, if not just take the line
from the pot and suck on it it should reach a
point where you cant suck any more, if you can
there is a hole in the diaphram and it needs to
be replaced.

Also check the electrical part, for connection,
power and ground, some times the switch itself
goes out but that is rare.

The chains on these V6's will start to make noise
as soon as 5000 miles usualy by 10,000 its there.

The chains do however hold up very well even with
them slaping against the cover, the life you can
expect is anywhere from 150,000 to 250,000

anywhere during that amount of miles they will
jump a tooth and run bad or not at all, the 1990
I bought has 257,000 miles origanal chain, I plan
on putting a 4.0 stroker motor in there the motor
I will be building for that truck is a 92 mag, I
have the computer, wire harness and dash from
the 92 that was rolled.

I recently found out why my cruise was not working, The part between your steering wheel & the colum that has the sliding controls for turning the wheel had worn out. Uuuugh... 1 more thing that needs replaced

Next time a Honduh wants to race
Ask him how many sheets of plywood he can haul?

If the cruise control light doesn't even come on does this mean it is a problem with the switch or the electrical system?

if vacuum lines and electrical check out look at the brake light switch adjustment. if you have a 5 speed check the clutch pedal switch as well.
