LS1's have absolutely nothing in common with any 350 chevy motor
it was kinda cute the way you started talking so much sheet with putting a 350 into a S10 but then you go off giving the power output numbers of newer chevy motors that arent 350's.

you swap motors with one thats not even available for that particular vehicle, then you know nothing about any 350... then you try to compare it to a vehicle that comes with a 360 that is still faster than you.
hell, my truck came stock with a V6 and i am putting in a stock 400 big block... man i hope i do a lot better than a 14 second timeslip if i were to change out motors.
another thing... the 360 is not in the current lineup of dodge motors... it was killed a few years back but the left overs made it to 2003 model year (2002 fiscal year).
current dodge V8s
4.7 ... 230-235 hp (depending on equipement)
4.7 HO ... 260-270 hp
5.7 hemi ... 345 hp (335 in durango)
yes my truck has flames, no its not a hot rod... but does every hot rod have flames? NO!
come back when you do have a "350" in your truck and 14 second timeslips..
i'll have my 400 BB in with 12 second timeslips

wait a second... that "six cylinder hp based V8" has 70 more hp than a S10... now how does that make sense?
and me, no i dont have a 5.9. I dont go braggin about how my V6 is 7 tenths slower than a V8. I dont go braggin about how i could be faster than a dakota with a V8 if i put a V8 in my truck.
as for my V6, its never raced a S10... because i have dont bother with those things. I race stuff with V8 and beat em.. dont go braggin about loosing to em. Best time was 13.52 @ 103 over a year ago with a 3.55 open diff. 13's have gotten old so now i am shooting for something different.
i bring up 1999 stats because that was the last 350 ever made. And why do you bring up motors from 1997 dipsheet... thats when the last LT1 was made. There you go back and forth from one motor to another.

My friend put a 100 Shot of nos on his Twin Turbocharged 79 Monte Carlo, that was pushing close to 900HP without any NOS, and he put it on there, cause he wanted to take advantage of all the performance add ons he could.
It's not cheating, because guess what it does attach to your engine, and yes it works with your engine, anything and everything that can fit under the hood, and benefits the engine in one way is not cheat, it's improvising.
Thats why an Indian saying hunting with a gun is cheating. I mean come on, if one thing makes something more efficient of course you are going to go with it, if efficiency is cheating, then hell yes, I think anyone who can afford NOS would be proud to admit to cheating.
But atleast his truck is faster than yours :)

Hunting with a gun IS cheating. So is comparing a dodge v6 to a chevy v8. Both of which can still be fun to do.
Whats wrong with comparing dodge's most powerful motor to chevy's most powerful motor (502) ? Aren't they both still options for the full size trucks? Since this is a dakota forum I guess I should be talking about small trucks, so compare the most powerful dakota motor to the most powerful s10 motor. Why does it matter that one makes power from a v8? We're talking stock v. stock here.
Yes, I'm a chevy guy, and I think a 502 in an el camino will beat a v10 Ram. Hey, they're both pickups with out-of-the-box motors, right? This is just an example of you guys are comparing apples to oranges.
My 89 chevy 5.7/auto has 190 hp, and I decided on the dodge 3.9/manual based on the fact that the power to the wheels is the same, and since the dak is lighter it feels faster.
Monkeys throw feces and cobras spit venom, but they don't shoot guns. Dakota's and s10's both have neutered v6's, but dodge is the only one offering v8's for them, get over it man.
