I have a 98 3.9 4x4 auto trans. When I first start it up and start driving it goes to 30 and then doesn't upshift. I drive 30mph at 3000 rpms before finally it upshifts. Is this due to the fact the overdrive has not warmed up yet or do I have a serious problem? Thank you and have a nice day.

There is a temp sensor located in the left trans
cooler line near the radiator.
Replace it

Could be the Map Sensor or the vales sticking.

could also be the valve body in the trans going to pot.
