I am totally confused.hopefully someone can explain this to me.I recently purchased an 01 dakota with about 9,054 miles.after about a month i noticed a skip so i decided to change the plugs .the insulators on the plugs were burnt even had a post about this problem.after about a week on the new plugs as i was going to work one morning developed a skip and backfire.thought maybe the plugs were wrong so changed plugs again still had a slight skip as if a plug wire was bad.took it to the dealership and as i expected said they could not duplicate the problem.so decided to change cap rotor and wires myself.as i was changing wires i noticed #6 wire in #1 position i don't exactly recall the order they were attached but they were in the wrong order.installed them 1-6-5-4-3-2 seems to have corrected the problem.the thing that confuses me i always thought if plugs were in wrong order it would make a hell of skip it didn't it was only slight.the second thing i would like to know if this has been this way for 10,000 miles what kind of damage has it done to the engine.

It realy would not hurt the motor unless you had
some piston ping from the 60 degree advance the
cyl probably did not even fire unless you got on
it than you would get some backfire.

It sure would run like crap

These 6's are weird pull #1 and #4 injector wires
and it will barley run but pull #1 and any other
and it just slows it down a little just the way
its set up
