i know alot of you guys have used a jet chip
my question is this-did it help your truck?
some - not at all - helped a lot
also your gas mileage- same -droped -improved
i,ve checked the reviews mixed 50/50 good/bad
the reviews were on 94s and newer
i,ve been thinking of getting one for 89 dak v6
would it do anything for my truck?
does anyone else make a chip or pcm for said truck?
does anyone have a used one for sale jet#98901S
or used performance pcm?

all i can say about the jet stage 2 on my '98 dak is that i didn't notice a difference in performance until i took it off...i couldn't feel the initial hp increase because there is a learning curve for your computer that takes roughly 300 or 400 miles, i didn't think that i gained any hp at all, so i took it off when i accidently got it wet, and noticed that my truck did lose a lil hp's...however it really is not worth the money and certainly not worth having to put 93 octane in your tank every trip to the gas station, you could be more efficient in the long run by doing other mods that do not require 93 octane cuz it's killin my wallet...i'm a dummy for still runnin it

I have a 99 3.9 with a jet stage 2 I ran 93 for a while, then I thought what the heck I'll try the cheap stuff and sure enough it did'nt ping, In fact I think it pulls better with cheapo. I live up here in Canada so I don't know if the gas is different or what (it's 87 octane)Furthermore I did the crankshaft sensor mod a few months later and still no ping(Although I'm a fan of the Jet I personally beleive the mod worked better than the chip)I should also say that I run a 180 thermo and platinum +4's for plugs.oh yeah I also relocated my air intake still no ping.
vern: If you can get a chip for say 50 to 75 I'd say it's worth it I believe it removes speed limiter, (although I've only been to 175kmh) and it helps a bit in the midrange as for gas mileage
maybe mpg on hiway.

i have a 2000 dakota 3.9 4X4, the max speed i can
go is around 130km. it total slows right down,
when i hit the slighest slopes or hill, and then
the rpm slams in hard to about 4000 to 5000.can anybody tell me if this is normal.
