96 3.9, 140k miles, just today started this:
cranks slow and will not start without giving it gas. if you let off gas it will not idle, it just dies.
jumping it to another car makes it crank normally but still no normal start/run.
i tried unplugging what i assume to be the map sensor, on the front of the throttle body. that didnt change anything.
it seems to run normally when you give it gas, it is not missing or knocking or anything, but will not stay running on its own.
need this truck tomorrow!
what do you think?

nevermind, found it was intermittent AIS getting stuck closed. fyi if you ever get stranded with that problem and dont have the torx to take the ais off or whatever, just pop off one of those small vacuum caps at the brake booster and it will idle in gear and everything until you can clean/replace your ais.
