Do a search on here, it is a common question. but here is what works best in my opinion,
Mark

78103 or 9-1103 Cloyes street true roller (small block) Autozone

also add a oem tensioner(replaces cam thrust plate)

53021195AA at dealer -or-
P5007709 from a Mopar Performance parts supplier, same part compare for best price.

Same chain. Avoid Cloyes. I've seen two motors built by two different people running nearly new Cloyes chains break recently. The Cloyes chains just fell apart.

STOP!! Listen to the voice of experience. I put a new chain on my 95 Dak last year. I got real tired of the noise too. DON'T buy a stock chain from the dealer. You'll get ripped off. Call Summit Racing, check out their web site for phone number. You can buy a double roller, with new gears and all for $50. You won't need a tensioner with it, It's not going to stretch with the horsepower a V6 has. I changed mine myself in 1 day. While I was at it I changed the water pump. You should too if yours is original equipment. It's only $30 or so for a factory OEM rebuilt pump. Buy all new gaskets and flush the block while you're at it. You can do the whole thing, and do it right, for under $120. A shop would charge over $600 It made a world of difference for my truck.
P.S. You'll need a 1 5/16" socket or wrench to remove the harmonic balancer.

Don't listen to b1llyw, there are more Cloyes in more high performance motors than just about any other timing chain made. All timing chains will break if the right things go wrong in a motor. But to blame a Cloyes for causing the damage is a bit of a "stretch".

J and J Auto, I am replacing my Dakota 2003 timing chain for the first time. It has 197,000 miles on it. So I will replace both sprokets and tensioner as well. I will like to go double roller. Can you provide Cloyes part number for chain, sproket and tensioner? Thank you.
