Larry, first of all I would like to thank you for all your help that you have gave me and everyone else. Your are a great addition to these forums.

I would like to know what transmission I have in my 95 dodge ram 2x4 1500 longbed. Is there a way I can tell or find out? I know its either a 42Rh or a 46Rh right? I tried looking in my owners manuel and on the orginal car lot sticker but all that said was "HD 4 speed automatic"
Thanks for any help, chop

You can also find it on the drivers side of the
trans but hard to see.

Just call any dealer with your vin number handy
and they can also tell you exactly what you have

What are you looking for a shift kit.

The TFOD 518 TransGo will fit all the dodge trans
except the newer 5 speed autos

Also it's a RE not a RH. RE is Electroni Shift & RH is Hydraulic. In 95 they went to the 42RE/44RE/A518(4wd).

Just to make sure you don't have an "In Between" Next to the shift linkage there Is a Plug that plugs down into the tranny on the driver side, If you pull that off and it's only 3 prong, you have a RH, If it's round with 5 or 6 wires it's a RE. Same tranny, Different Valve Body.

Good Luck,
Shank
