Hi,
I was wondering how fast a V6 4x4 Dakota Crewcab is? I have a GMC Sonoma SLS Crewcab and I have run it a few times at the track. It can't come close to a Dakota R/T and for some reason, they are the only Dakotas that I have seen at the track. My Sonoma weighs 4,250lbs with me and a 3/4 a tank of gas. Stock I ran a 17.463 at 76.99 mph. With my Airforce One intake I ran a 16.786 at 80.73 mph. That is the only mod I have made. I plan on getting an exhaust and maybe an HPP. How does a Dakota V6 crew compare to a V8 crew?

The crew cabs I believe weigh about 850lbs more
and would not be that bad.

If you invest about $700 to $1000 into some mods
on the V6 you can gain 30 to 40 HP at the rear
wheels and it would be faster than the Sonoma

46mm fastman or 48mm F&B
1.7 crower rockers
superchips micro tuner

These 3 mods and just a low restriction muffler
are the most popular mods we do at the shop,
The customers are always very happy with these
mods and they don't have to spend to much. We are
doing these things on brand new trucks with under
a 1000 miles on them these days.

That would put you about 210 hp and 260 lbs torque
at the crank, almost the same as a 318 V8

It would also help the gas mileage quit a bit I
would say 1 to 3 mpg increase is what I see on
most V6 trucks with these mods and a lot of
smiling face's

I have a 2000 Quad Cab V6. My mods include Airaid intake, 48mm F&B TB, JBA headers, 8.5mm MSD wires, brass cap, autolite plugs, synthetic oil, 2.5" Borla muffler with 3" tailpipe(tail pipe was from my old 3" dynomax catback system). I have not been to the track since I got all of this but the last time I did run I ran a 17.4sec 1/4 mile with only the airaid intake and 3" Dynomax catback. I hope to hit the track this winter. My new job is allowing me more free time to have some fun. As far as my gas mileage I get about 10-11 mpg in the city and 17-18 mpg on the highway. Hope to get the Superchips tuner soon as well as some 1.7RR from my friend John at Southeast R/T club.
