Since we are talking "Extended Drain" ...

I try to be very clear when talking about extended drains. 10,000 mile oil change is absolutely possible. Up to a 25,000 mile interval is possible under certain conditions, but please read further for additional information. But the KEY here is that --- The 3,000 mile recommendation is overkill, especially with superior synthetic oils.

I know it's hard to believe, but there are a few things that I would like to clarify. Amsoil has been in the oil industry for 30 years. Due to Amsoil's superior synthetic composition and advanced performance additives, AMSOIL performs much longer than do conventional petroleum and other synthetic motor oils. No other major oil manufacturer matches AMSOIL's 25,000-mile or one-year drain interval recommendations (whichever comes FIRST, changing the filter every six months).

However, the 25,000 mile /1 year that is on the back of the bottle is NOT an absolute! One must realize that is for non-severe service (highway miles where you have stable operating conditions) and that the indicated drain interval also has a time period of 1 year maximum as well.

***** READ THIS PLEASE EVERYONE *****

Under a combination of city and highway circumstances, AMSOIL recommends up to 2 or 3 times longer, it means up to 2 or 3 times the equipment manufacturer's recommendation (If your owners manual states 3k miles , then you can change at 9k, and if your owners manual states 5k then 12-15k changes would be alright based on driving habits ... the harder you drive, the sooner the change). Proper filtration is also very important. AMSOIL SDF Oil Filters must be changed at least every 6 months regardless of miles driven.

Notice: Modifications to engine will change service intervals.

Notice: More frequent service may be required under severe service operating conditions.

Notice: For drain interval beyond 3x manufacturers recommendations (especially the 25k change) --- Regular oil analysis is recommended for establishing drain intervals.

AMSOIL --- 30 years of manufacturing oil and mountains of data and tests make these clains possible.

Let me know if anyone needs additional information.

This has obviously turned into a religious post for Steven.

Keep cashin' the commission checks! Your stuff is way overpriced to support your pyramid habit.

If Amsoil doesn't have to back their butts with factory fills, they cannot be exposed to weaknesses.

Amazing how the "spin machine" works.

I appreciate your support of this site, and it is good, however, do some research of your own rather than spewing Amsoil marketing crap.

I consider this thread dead. I have never convinced anyone to convert religion, nor do I expect Steve to have an open mind.

I will not respond to this dead post again.

Happy Holidays and may Santa lube his tracks with fine synthetic lubes. Joy to all!

I see people in white robes next to the road with buckets of roses and quarts of Amsoil!

You will never see a small speciality supplier being factory fill. Redline is not factory fill. Royal Purple is not factory fill. Only the majors can afford to give their oil away and then make up the profit loss by telling consumers to change their oil every 3k miles. Part of the factory fill agreement is the filler cap states "use only mobil1" ..... ha ha ha ha ....... like I can only use Gillette Shaving Cream if I buy Gilette Razors --- and then have Gillette tell me I gotta change the blade every 3 shaves. ha ha ha

Reasons that I am a Sponsor/Advertiser on a Dodge Dakota Truck Website:

1) Mark (site owner) and I work at the same firm in New Jersey.

2) My cousin owns a Dodge Dealership in Georgia.

3) My Bro-In-Law owns a Dodge/Jeep/Ferrari/Maserati Dealership in England.

4) My cousin owns a NAPA store and his biggest oil display is Amsoil ...

... so I have driven (and have been in the garage with) many Dakota's, Durango's, Ram's, etc., etc., ... hang out behind the counter at a NAPA store, ... and have owned 1 Dodge Truck and 2 Dodge Vans in the past.

I do not own a Dakota currently. It does not serve my needs when it comes to entertaining clients. I currently own an SUV (not Dodge).

Question Since Amsoil has bypass filters for the engine. Why don't they have them for the transmission. They done think they are necessary

Amsoil ATF External Transmission Filter
IP: Logged

Message:

I don't know why not, but let's remember that your transmission fluid is not subjected to contamination like your motor oil. However, I know several people that have a by-pass on their transmission. They are all using Amsoil Synthetic Universal ATF.

IMHO --- a bypass filter on a transmission is probably overkill. I know many Dodge truck owners that have well in excess of 100k and some even 200k on their transmissions using AMSOIL Synthetic Universal ATF with no reported problems. Two relatives own Dodge Dealerships and my cousin owns a NAPA store --- so I am speaking the facts.

If you are still concerned, --- put a good external filter on your transmission --- put in a good synthetic lubricant --- hopefully Amsoil --- and your transmission should outlast your other components.

I know many Dodge owners that have noticeable and significant improvements switching to Amsoil Universal Synthetic ATF. They state that the transmission characteristics are better than when it was new --- and you will not have to change it out for over 100,000 miles easily.
--------------------------------------------------

Amsoil Synthetic Universal ATF --- Retail Pricing
(preferred customers receive discounted pricing of approximately 20%)

Product Codes - Quantity/Size - Retail Pricing

ATF-QT - (1) quart bottle ------------ $7.80

ATF-01 - (12) quart bottles --------- $92.40

ATF-TP - (1) 2 1/2-gallon bottle ---- $74.25

ATF-05 - (2) 2 1/2-gallon bottles - $146.50

ATF-30 - (1) 30-gallon drum ------- $689.00

ATF-55 - (1) 55-gallon drum ----- $1,181.00
--------------------------------------------------

Let me quote a good friend, and member of DodgeDakotas.com ---
--- BigBlue QC, a.k.a. Artie, with whom I have shared many emails:

"I have been using AMSOIL ATF since 4,000 miles (60,000 now) with absolutely ZERO problems. Just had an analysis done, the fluid is fine for continued use."

I am a preferred customer. I have tried 10w30 and am using series 3000 5w30 in my dakota. Didnt get any better mielage with synthetic verses dino oil. Even put series 2000 75-90 gear oil and didnt get any better mielage. Going to put the ATF in my trans here shortly and a bypass filter on engine too. I just like to have the best in my vehicle to last even though my mpg has stayed the same

Amsoil Synthetic Oil and MPG
IP: Logged

Message:

QC Dakota,

Fuel economy can be very difficult for the consumer to accurately gauge. However --- It has been proven by AMSOIL, through use of industry accepted fuel economy tests, field demonstrations and as witnessed by most of our customers, that switching to synthetic oils and lubricants can (and does) improve fuel economy (mpg).

If you fill up at a warmer part of the day one week compared to the previous week you can sometimes see a huge fluctuation in MPG just based on that. Same holds true for colder weather, whereby it will seem like you got the same or less MPG than when compared to warmer weather.

Also, the pump may have stopped pumping later one week compared to the last, making it "seem" like you used more (or the same) gallons of fuel.

Different driving conditions per tank full also makes a difference.

Also, I've observed a MPG increase when switching grades (5w-30 compared to 10w-40).

Remember, hoping to obtain better MPG is not the only reason to switch to synthetic lubricants.

Keep the faith.

Thank you,

Robert, I take exception to you comment about AMSOIL being a overprice pyramid scheme. I use AMSOIL in both of my Dakota trucks and my wife's Chrysler. AMSOIL is not cheap, but in the long run it pays for itself. AMSOIL has proven itself to be the best set of lubricants on the market. I was very skeptical about AMSOIL when I was first introduced to it. I must say it has "EARNED" my trust and respect. I will continue to use it.

I have read enough of Steven Roark posts to know that he is not trying to give anyone a bag of fertilizer, he's only stating the facts about AMSOIL. If it's a religion than BROTHER KEEP PREACHING.
