 Subject: 1990 Dodge Dakota transmission question

I have a 1990 Dakota 3.9 v6,with an automatic transmission w/OD, recently the transmission gave out. I was just wondering what different years and types of transmissions will fit? Just want to be able to look for more than just 1990s or maybe even something besides a Dakota tranny will work in a Dakota. Thank you for your help.

You have a A-500 tranny. any A500 or A518 wll work. Anything from 1986 to 1990 would be good. Possibly even to 96'. Good luck.
