Subject: Belt needs changin
IP: Logged

Message:
Went to J-Lube recently and they showed me that the 'belt' is very cracked and in need of replacement.
Is this something I can do myself, Or should I pay the $85 they wanted to get for doing it?
I can't seem to find my Hanes manual for the Dakota, so I was hoping to get some tech support from fellow Dak owners.

Thanks
-Kevin

Do it your self..
30$ for a gatorback belt..
just need a 15mm wrench..
put 15mm wrench on tensioner and rotate clockwise,it will move the pully.{release tension}

Do it yourself. The belt is about $35.00 and all you do is pull the tensioner over and pull the old belt off. There should be a decal on the front of the radiator with the belt routing. If not draw the belt path out before removing it. I use a breaker bar and socket to pull the tensioner over, but you can use a wrench. Good luck.

Sounds easy enough, I'll order the belt today.

ARe there any picks of the tensioner out there? Something I can use as a reference to make sure I do this right?

Thanks
