I just got a 93 dakota,3.9. It seems to sound like there is a bad lifter, It has a consistant tap, but not a solid noise like a rodor something, It is on the righ bank , Is there anything common that I should look for, the inside of the valve cover oil fill cap looks tryer that the right side, I know I must pull valve cover to be safe, Just looking for some inside tips, let me know if you have heard orhad experiance with this happening? Also did dodge put two oil fill caps on the engine ? I have on on the left and right , all the factory wire holders look in tact and the bolts untouched. The truck only has about76000 miles, Thanks

Are you sure its not an exhaust leak? I thought my 95 had a sticky lifter (on the right side too) but it turned out to be exhaust. There's no exhaust gaskets from the factory so they leak after time. I'd check that first.
