do all dakotas use the same rear end? im looking at a posi unit for a 8 1/4... the rears dont differ from a 8 to a 6 do they??

Depends on what year Dakota you have. I am sure (I think) that 1992 through 1996 were all 8 1/4 diff's but someone else may know about the other years.
