What is the Qt mile time for the stock 3.9L?

What is the Qt mile time for the 4X4 auto ext. cab?('97)

I was just wanting to know what exactly i can race and not look like an idiot. I've got flowmaster 50 series, k&n: soon to come, 48mm TB, 8mm wires and autolites with borg warner "select".

What do you think my truck could do with all this on it?

Hopefully somewhere in the 16's i hope.

Please let me know before i go an get destroyed by some stupid supped up four banger.

thanks

why is everyone worried about looking like an idiot in races, whats the big deal if u lose? I've tried to race a BMW 725(or something), a probe gt, a jeep wrangler, some sort of turbo audi, a mercedes CL500, a corvette and a couple vans(V8 i hope lol) got roasted by all of them but still fun anyway. V6 daks a freakin slow, still fun to race. I can't recall winning many races at all. lol (Stupid choosing 4x4 over V8) oh well (one van i was way ahead of until like 85 or 90 and he started to pass me so i gave up. thing is no one ever knows im racing them because a V6 4x4 dak going all out is like an old lady driving a mustang GT lol. The only lose that really hurt was the wrangler...i hate wranglers. no dak ever wanted to race me V6 or V8. I wish a V8 or 2wd V6 would race me just so i could see the difference.

disclaimer: not talking about track races. these are all trafic light races. i don't want any flank about it being dangerous either(although I'll bet u guys don't care after some of the stupid $hit i've said in the past(including the above post and the gen 2 bashing from that other post about bernds truck sucking or whatever)

also got beat by a full sized Gm diesel pulling a horse trailer in NC, but that wasn't really a race.

you got beat by a van!?!?!

don't worry about the flak from racing on the street!! j/k lol

i got beat by a dodge minivan in my girlfriend's honda del sol! if you don't pop the clutch at 3000 on those things, you just don't go anywhere!

i've never lost a race (in my dakota) but i also never ran a stupid race...the bravest i did was against my friend in his 99 Z28...i beat him (barely)but i took about all 10 #s to do it!

Stock 1/4 mile times for a V6 (model depending) is from 16.9-17.5 in the 1/4 mile. The 4x4 is going to be the slower model especially with the clubcab model.

If you're looking to increase performance drastically, you'll need a supercharger or nitrous. If you want a decent .3 - .5 second decrease in et...you're on the right track.

Any one happen to know what the 1/8 mile times and speeds would be on a 2001 Dakota RC V6 5spd. I know shifting will be a big factor. I wanna start modding and I'm curios to see how much the times will change as i continue to modify from stock.
The only things I've done so far are Tonneau cover and a Flowmaster 50series muffler, 180T-stat, and monroe Relfex shocks. not that I expect these to help my times much if any.

If that toneau cover is fiberglass you could have picked up a 100
pounds or more with that. Every 100 pounds is .10 of a second
in the quarter mile. Do you only have an 1/8 mile track by you?
Not a good way to compare times as most all tracks are 1/4
mile. But my times were 11 in the 1/8th I have a 99 club cab 3.9
auto.

I had a stock 3.9L 5 speed 96' standard cab and it runs a 16.8 Me and a friend installed a 75 shot of nitrous and it's capable of running around a 15.4 or so with a full bottle. If you're looking for a cheap nitrous kit, let me know. I do a lot of trading and selling with nitrous so I can help you out if you're looking for a quick solution to a slow vehicle. :)
