Subject: high oil pressure when driving
IP: Logged

Message:
I've got an 87 4x4 with an automatic. When I put the truck into gear and start moving the oil pressure shoots up to the high end of the normal range. It never did this before. It started about a month ago. I'm running 10w30 which is in the middle of the full marks. The transmission fluid is newer and is around the same level. The transmission has been shifting rough and the truck really dies out in 3rd now. Does anybody else have this problem.

Check your oil pressure sending unit, also you said the trans was shifting rough. Make sure your trans has MOPAR trans fluid in it, and if you did not change the filter you need to change it before you burn up the valve body in your trans.
