100 shot is the max I would go-- you'd see good gains with a 75 shot, bottle heater-- and be happy with it.

I sell the NX kits!

My friend ran nitrous on his monte carlo. He had nothing but problems with it though. He ran a NOS cheater system which was a 150 shot. The car has a built 350. The block cracked last year, I dont know if that was because of the nitrous or a chevy thing. Or maybe a combination of both. He hasnt run nitrous since. Thats just my experience with it. As long as you dont over do it you should be ok.

He most likely ran a dry setup, the NX setup is a wet setup, much safer.

Sam,

Is the NX system a direct port injection set up, or not. If so, how many Jets come with the kit. I'm interested in this kit as well as the NOS nozle kit. The NX setup is about $1k cheaper so I want to make sure that it has all of the attributes I want.

NX makes many different kits-- the one's for the '92 and up Dakota/Ram vans has a single shark fin nozzle that you mount in the air inlet tube, approx 6" from the throttle body. The kit comes with 35, 50, 75, 100, 150 jets (comprised of fuel and N20 jets), Fuel and N20 solenoid. 10# bottle, bracket, WOT switch, arming switch (in the truck).

I currently run this, with a bottle blanket-- The fuel ties in with the shrader valve on the fuel rail (straight bolt on-- you have to remove the valve 'stem').

NX is the easiest, safest and almost the most tunable kit out there for our rides.
Direct port or "fogger's" are nice but take a LOT of bottle to keep em fed and are really only meant for engines built for them, : forged pistons, better than stock head gaskets and bullit proof crank assemblies.

Always run the highest octane you can get (cause you never know when your gonna hit it!) and if your over 50 shot use octane booster.

Fazdak,

I was planning on using forged pistons. The nozzle system has the fuel sylenoid and NO2 sylenoid hook ups for each fuel injector. From what I've read about the system it is fairly safe. It comes with the WOT sensor, and plugs into the computer so that it won't spray prior to 3k rpms and after 6500 rpms. I'm interested in the NX system because it doesn't cost nearly as much as the Nozzle kit, I just think that I'll be able to get more from the Nozzle system vice NX. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I have to admit, I know nobody who has dropped that kinda cash for the "nozzle" kit.
I am pretty sure you can kill just about any engine with the basic NX kit if you try hard enough. In that, I see no need to drop the extra $ just to say you have that kit because the NX kit is tunable from 25 to actually more than 150 if you get the jets. The NX kit can keep the A/F meter in a pretty decent zone if you test and tune it enough.
Short of a full racing "fogger" (thats actually what I was referrng to) I see no need for any high priced N2O systems on basically stock engines. IMO

good luck with whatever you choose and follow their directions to the "T"

Thanks fazdak, I think I'm going to go with the NX system than. I'm just now sure how the Nx system works. I how does the Nx system get the N2O into the heads or manifold if it is set up out side of the TB. Just a novice question I guess.

Same way the air gets in, it actually works more like a carb'd engine in the fact that the N20/fuel mixture is sent in together very early in the intake tract.
I understand N20 stays atomized a lot better than gas so injecting it that far up isnt a huge handicap.
I was working on a TB spacer out of a billet of alumium to drill and tap for the "Shark" nozzle but i took a bit to much meat off it and it warped on me. I never did like the idea of the mixture going in before the TB but a few 10lb bottles later and a smile you couldnt smak off I seemed to have forgoten about that. :-D

nx has the plate now, runs ~$150 or so (would have to check for you) with the jets. Sits under the throttle body.
