Subject: #2 Cylinder Misfire 1999 Dakota 3.9

Message:
I've been chasing a misfire in the #2 cylinder for a while and am ready to freak out. Ive had the fuel pump replaced, injectors cleaned, new plugs, and the manifold gasket replaced. I read a service bulletin that said it could be a coil wire that needs to be re-routed. Anybody had this problem and how can I fix it? How do I re-route the coil wire? Thanks.

Try swapping an injector with another cylinder or a plug wire with another cylinder, before you hang more parts dude.

Take the plug wire from that cyl put an old
plug on it lay it somewhere it will get a ground
and start the truck and see if its sparking
while running.

Now take that plug out of that hole and it should
be wet if not no fuel, Injector or bad plug or
conection.

You guys get to far away from the old ways of
checking things just because its a computer
controled vehicle don't mean you need to be
a wiz to check these things the old way.

^They do the same things the old cars did they are
just told by sensors how and when to do the same
old thing.
