Has anyone tried a Hughes Stage I Intake Manifold for the V6? If so, how did you like it? Did you feel much of an improvement? And was low end hurt any? Thanks for the help.

I was also wondering if anyone had used any of the Hughes V6 parts such as the manifold, TB and cam.

I called Huges and the intakes are no longer available. I have used a few things, like the belly pan, and have been satisfied with the parts. I'm trying to find a modified manifold or someone who has some for sale. It may not be worth the effort, the guy at Hughes said there just was no demand. So good luck with your parts.

Sorry to burst your bubble but they do sell the manifold. It costs $420 for modified oem manifold. Not exactly sure what that means but they do have them in stock. I didn't realize this until I called them but they are only a few miles where I'am from. The guy I talked to was pretty open as to what available for v-6ers.

Wouldn't want any other!

its really not worth the price. If you dont have a dremel, just find a buddy that does and modify it yourself. You can even use epoxy to fill in the plenum.

Stealwings, could you give me the name of someone to talk to. The guy on the phone yesterday said they didn't have any and wouldn't be doing any more because the demand just wasn't there. Any help would be appreciated.

Deep Purple,

since you will have to take your manifold off anyways, you might as well do the mod yourself. You can easily achieve enough power to make up for not spending $400+ on it. If you want to spend that kinda money on modding, i would go for nitrous.

If you want any help (directions) on working on the manifold, i well be more than happy to offer assistance.

Thanks for everyones help. I may try to do this myself. The cutting of the divider is what I would have a hard time with. There are so few machine shops here. I've got a dremel to use to clean the ports. As soon as my lifters come in, I'm going to jump into it. See everyone at Lancaster maybe with a little more horse power.

You can change the devider in the manifold but
you will lose low end the more you raise it the
more you lose but you will gain flow up top.

For most people I would just recomend radius the
injector holes and the ports inside to take off
any sharp edges, If you can match the manifold
to the head ports.

Unless you are building with a blower or turbo
it is not nessasary to mod the intake just clean
it up. There is just that much you can gain there
and for what you lose not worth it.
