Hello, I'm here to ask a couple a questions about tranny juice changing. I've got a '93 V6 w/the a-500 tranny and 90,000 miles. I bought the mopar shift improver kit. So now I want to put it in, but all I here is "Dont't change the fluid with over 75,000 miles". Sooo, I had an Idea. If I take the pan off (and put a drain plug on it), Change the filter, and save as much of the old fluid as I can, then I put most of the old fluid back in and drive for a coulpe hundred miles. Then every two hundred miles, I drain a quart of old, and put a new quart in. If I did this for 1000 miles, I would avoid the chance of all the gunk screwing up the tranny, because it would clean it up little at a time. Then I could do a regular filter/fluid change.

Another guy I talked to today told me to buy a quart of TRANS-X. He said to pour half a quart in there, drive for two hundred miles, then change the filter/fluid like you normally would. Then put the rest of the TRANS-X in.

Also, what are the torque specs for the band adjustments.

Hey FazDak, was it hard to install the shift kit, what did it involve? I just want the RV/towing set up, so I dont have to drill on any thing. Also, I dont really want the shift points to go up, Is that possible? I just want firm shifts.

where/who told you not to change your fluid after 75,000?

I WILL NOT EVER ADD ANYTHING OTHER THAN ATF+3 TO MY TRANNY! Did the same thing with Lucas Stop Slip & took me 3 fluid/filter changes to get that $h1T outta my Tranny!

Front band, All the way in to 75 inch lbs & back out 2 1/2 turns. Mid band (Inside tranny pan) All the way in to 75 inch lbs & back out 3 3/4 turns. Make sure you lock the locking nuts tight. Very critical to get these bands set almost perfect.
