I have an 88 Dak with a 3.9 I want to put a turbo on it I have plans to rip off the EFI nd go with the 4bbl intake. If I can find one. If not will a 2bbl intake with a bigger carb work. Basicly I'm asking for any sugestion on how to go about doing it and what kind of horse power I would get out of it and even if it is worth it.

Thanks Aaron

Good Luck Aaron, Your looking at major changes to an old motor that's already going to be hard to find the parts for. Your looking at drastic changes to the manufactured engine. Higly recommend that you do a total teardown & rebuild.

IF you get all these topside mods complete on an old tired motor and try to run it to the possible potential and you have worn valves/rings/bearing, you are looking at major repair $$$.

A Turbo engine is designed with less compression than a Non-Turbo engine. You would get similar HP Gains from a Rebuild with Ported/Polished heads, Backgrind valves, Hotter cam, Longer Roller Rockers.

My opinion, Not worth the Turbo Attempt. Go with a rebuild and Modify, $$$ will likely come out the same and you will have a "New" engine.

If it don't work hit it with a hammer, Still don't werk? GET A BIGGER HAMMER!

I had planed on tearing down and building the motor to handle the turbo but if it is not really worth it then I'll just build the motor for spray. well thaks for your input.

Thanks
