I'm having problems with my 87' 3.9L auto 4x4 stalling out. It seems to do it when im slowing down or traveling over 55mph. After it stalls it wont start up for around 5 minutes. I've had the truck for about a year now and its been doing this for about 8 months. The engine, carb, distributor, plugs and wires, and coil are all new. The transmission is the only thing reporting an error code. That code is for a bad overdrive valve. I didn't know i had overdrive. I thought i just had a 3 speed auto. I'm at a loss so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like its time to replace the fuel pump,
when it gets hot from use its kicking out and
when it cools down it works again.

The same thing that happend on my 88 3/4 ton

You can ceck the fuel presure on the throttle
body injection it should be 12 to 14 lbs

Next time it does it have just a small amount of
gas and dump it down the body and if it starts
and than stops you know for sure its the pump
and it is located in the gas tank, you need to
remove the tank to get it out.

I believe the fuel pump is located on the front of the engine on the passenger side, It was on my 87. My 1993 is located in the gas tank.

Fuel pump has already been replaced, sorry, forgot that one, ive replaced so much already its getting hard to remember everything. Also replaced the starter, now the truck wont hold a solid idle (sometimes, the rest of the time it runs perfect) I think my truck is alive and i think its a woman cause this only happens once a month, usually
