I got bored today and decided to check some codes. I finally found out how in the Haynes manuel. I flipped the key twice then left at on position. The light stayed on a sec, then
3 flashes, pause, 5 flashes, pause, 5 flashes. In the Haynes it say it will flash eight times signaling the start. Didnt do that. Then I look up the pattern I got and there isnt one. It also says the end code is 5 flashes, pause, 5 flashes. So that leaves me with no start code, 3 flashes, and an end codes. No code for 3 flashes. Im also assuming that the stored codes are not severe and wont light the check engine lite, but only severe problems will. Ive never dealt with this.

Im not sure where to look to find out how to decode this. If the Haynes is wrong, should I invest in a Chilton or factory manual. Id rather not. Does anyone know what this code means or know of any way to find out,Id appreciate it.

Thanks JJ. I guess I'll try it again since it says all codes are two digits.

The 3 you are referring to is/was actually 1 & 2. which means power loss in last 50-100 start-ups. 55 is end of test. No fault codes, everything is OK.

If it don't work hit it with a hammer, Still don't werk? GET A BIGGER HAMMER!
