Subject: Good V6 intake?
IP: Logged

Message:
I just bought a 2001 Club Cab SLT V6 auto. 4x4 Dakota yesterday. I am so happy i finally got the truck of my dreams. I was wondering what is a good intake kit to get for my truck. Also what Headers and exhaust to get. I like the look of dual rear exhaust, but is it good for performance? All info will be greatly appreciated. Mahalo!

I have the AIRAID but wish i had gotten the K&N or the intenseperformance.com one. The K&N is pricy but its the best.

Any of them is better then stock

I made my own intake for my 3.9L. Cost about $60 for all the supplies including the K&N filter. Used 3" PVC and painted it red to match the truck. Looks great and screams.

Chuck: Intense Performance Stage-II 7" BigMouth...it's better than factory and not as pricey as the K&N with almost the same gains.

Does the Intense Performance stage-II 7" bigmouth make the cool intake sound. I want it to be kind of loud. What are the differences in power gains between K&N and IP stage-II 7" bigmouth?

the thing i did to my mopar cold air kit to make it better was to remove the piece of rubber next to the pass. side of the radiator and used it to completely block off engine heat to the filter...works d@mn well!! the temperature in the filter location is always the outside temp if not cooler.
