I ain't been around for a long long time, but its good to be back.
This may sound a bit odd, but I'm wondering if anyone's V6 Throttle body is just laying around gathering dust and is looking to sell it for a few bucks. I got myself, another V6 Dak owner, and someone foolish enough to buy a V6 Ram (same engine) that're all buddies, and I lead the charge in mods, but I still got to do my TB (as do they,,, they know very little about what they can and cannot do to their trucks).
My idea is if anyone's got their's for sale cheap after buying n F&B, V8, or other brand that doesn't require a core exchange, I can take it, bore (port/polish)it out an put it on my truck. Then when mine comes off, we'll bore it out and slap it onto the next guys, and so on.
I'm looking to spend about half of what I would spend on a V-8 TB otherwise I might as well just buy the V-8 one.
If you're in the Chicago area with the right price I can come up to you with cash in the next day or two and do this in person (preffered). Otherwise I'm gonna have to wait a day or two before I do this and see if names I recognize with good reps from the board show so I can send them Money Orders for the parts.....

I dont know what year or how much youre lookinig to spend, but these are fairly cheap.

i bought a 48mm f&b throttle bodie for my 2000 dodge dakota 3.9 V-6 magnum and i was wondering if it is 50 state legal,and will it cause any emission problems, i get tested in missouri, st.louis area

The Flowmetrics billet throttle bodies are not emmissions legal. They are not CARB registered. So, a knowledgeable mechanic might spot it and fail you on a visual inspection.
However, I have had my truck emmissions tested 3 times with my 48 mm billet TB installed, and it passed with flying colors (no visual inpsection under the hood in NJ).
I don't know what the inspection laws are like in your area, but I hope this helps.

so when i get my emissions tested for the first time, should i keep on the f&b throttle bodie, and if it fails should i put on the stock throttle bodie for the second time, or do you have any other suggestions, as far as i know they test the tailpipe,and gas cap

I would leave the TB on and see what happens. It will definitely pass the sniffer, and most people will never notice it on the visual. I think its mostly CA guys who have to be careful.

I know here in IL if you got a '96 or newer they just hook to your truck computer and don't even sniff ya. I put all my hinky stuff back the night before and reset my PCM when I left work to go to the testing place, and passed uber-quick.

True on the flometrics-- but, here in CA-- The smog nazis haven't even made a stink on the billet TBs-- A few who have been tested and the mechanic asked about it-- made comments "that's cool." "yeah, that doesn't affect smog one bit-- uses stock sensors, placement is the same-- nice piece."
CARB certification is planned from what I have been told-- to calm those fears (especially since it doesn't affect the emissions output)
