Gen I is pre magnum, making far less power. I think 125hp instead of Gen II's 175hp.

I found a pair of edelbrock TES headers that are half the price of jba headers. They are for the gen I. Can i still use them on my Gen II?

no, the head ports are different, so they work only on the premagnums

You can use the Edlebrock headers till 91, the first year of the rounder nose. They bolt onto the factory ststem. If your looking to up grade a gen 1 use a complete system of a 92 up. You will need everything, manifolds and pipes. I used the manifolds off a 93 van and used a stock y from a 92 dak along with a cat back system. Made no difference on the bottom, of course, but made a difference on the top end and gas mileage.
