I purchased a 00 Dakota 3.9 auto this spring with 28k miles or so in it...
I had a buddy run the VIN and i found out what dealer it was purchased at. I call that dealer to see if there are any records on file of the truck for repair. They tell me it had a main seal replaced and the cooling fan checked. So about 2 months after puchasing it, i notice the front main seal is leaking pretty good. Has 30,xxx miles on it. Bring it to a local dealer who has always been good. They replace it for me at no charge...well, this was about 2 months ago...im under the truck today and notice the new one is leaking...not bad, not bad at all...but its definatly leaking a little bit..
WTF....it now has about 31,800 miles on it and do i really need a 3rd one put in!!?? Is somthing wrong with the balance of the motor causing this?
I know my clutchfan stays engaged WAY TO LONG!!! like up to 30 mph when you first drive away. Is that normal? Could that cause this?

as far as the fan goes, my 97 does the same thing so it must be a dak thing! Make the dealer re-install the main seal a new one should not leak in 1,000 miles.
