Subject: K&N or S&B???

I was looking at two kits...

The K&N FIPK from Advance Auto store or an intake from Intense Performance. But the Intense comes with an S&B filter, I never heard of those but it looks like a K&N? Is this any good? Anyone have any experience with an S&B filter?

Thanks!

I have an intense performance stage 3 kit on my dak and i love it. I used to have a k and n setup on mine and i liked that also. From what ive heard as far as the filters go (S and B/K and N) they flow about the same so its a question of preference. Personally I like the intense setup better. I noticed a slightly better gain than the k and n. Also with the stage 3 you get a ceramic coated canister to surround your filter disipating the heat from your engine. The intake tube leading to your airhat is ceramic coated as well and the tube fits nicely to your stock airhat (no modification needed). The intake canister has an opening on the front of it where an accordian tube leads to your right fender, pulling in cold air and with all that ceramic coating it keeps the air fairly cold all the way to your throttle body. Just my experience and two cents.

the s&b flow a little better due to a extra filtration surface on the end of the cone... k&n just have nice piece of shiney chrome there with their logo. BUT, i am sure that a k&n flows more than enough air and that the extra air from a s&b would be worthless.

FYI, i had the mopar cold air intake on my truck and loved it (FIPK) and had a S&B 5X7 on my Shelby and loved it too...

its all about preference..

Great, thanks guys. I think I'll go with the Intense Performance, I have been hearing great things about it and it looks good as well.
