Subject: My Dak...I want more speed...help please

Hey all. I have a '93 dakota sport extended cab 2WD with a V6 3.9L and I want more power. They only make the supercharger for the V8, and I would be interested in turbo (if its not too much cash).

My dak is a manual 5 speed, and damn does she have power....but not enough for me.

I currently have an Edelbrock 14inch air filter, along with the spacer for it (thats a given). The engine has close to 97K miles and the transmission has about 73K miles. I can only get her to do 95mile and hour but it takes a while to get there....and I want more acceleration.

I would like to get new headers, and exhaust but I am not sure how well that would help my truck out (would it make a BIG noticable difference). I do not have the cash for an engine swap, and I dont think a supercharger either (3K for the V8...bleh).

Anyways, a new clutch also would help me out, Im planning on getting the stage II and all. Would traction bars be a benifit? My tires slip alot, not because they they are bald either.

I am going to drop my dak 3inches also and get new suspension, along with a paint job (next summer)....

Im open to suggestions (any).

Thx

1.Performance PCM
2.Better Ignition kit...plugs wire and coil and box
3.CAI..cold air intake..i have a 14 inch cleaner too and found that when motor gets warm i suck in too much hot air and it robs me of more power...mornings are awesome though
4.Synthetic fluids throughout everything
5.Lower profile tires or swap for taller gears in rear
6.High flow converter with a less restrictive exhaust
7.Electric fan for radiator
8.Underdrive pulleys
9.SKIP THE TRACTION BARS..GET FATTER TIRES!!!!...LOL
my 93 only tops out around 100mph or a little more ...sounds like the tire spinning trouble might be from a set of higher gears in back..Do you have a towing package on it?that could account for the tire spin and 95 top speed..hope this post helped....later
