i have a 99 dak with fake duals as you would say and the sound is great, (50 series flowmaster), but i woun;dn't mind putting a 40 series on it to make it a louder hummmmmmel

i though i read somewhere here that the 40 series flowmaster took away the bottom end. has anyone done any custom side exit exhaust where it comes out in front of the back tire on one or both sides? if there is room, i am thinking about it. kinda like a race truck and with some cool oval tips

jeff, i just made that setup where it comes out in front of the tire, it looks and sounds great, i threw a z28 tip on there so the rectangle fits flush with the bottom of the bed, i used a flowmaster 40 on mine, it sounds pretty dam tough but it is LOUD

i am about to do true dual out the passenger side, you cant do it on the driver side in front of the wheel due to the gas tank (gen 1) so i am doing it on the passengerside like on lightnings, i am using the dynomax muffler with dual 2 1/2" inlet and dual outlets, i'll tell you how it turns out

i got a 97 with the V6. Has intake and flowmaster 40 dumped
sounds loud and deep now but i think it spose to sound better when you lower it sooooo give me a week or so until i get this susp. done and I'll know

screw the flows, I got a single 2.5 coming out of a catco hi-flow cat, with a Y pipe to dual, sounds hella sweet, ppl here me coming 2 miles away.

i don't really want it to be loud, just have a nice low rumble. to me a v6 sound just doesn't compare to a v8 sound. therefore i prefer it to be on the quiet side.

i wouldn't get a true dual on a v6. there wouldn's be enough back pressure to handle it, and it would be really hard on your motor,inless you do some motor work,but it is your truck nobody elses.
