is the full gibson exhaust system worth the 300+ bucks? when i could just get a muffler for like 60? do the gains justify the cost difference?

That really depends on what comes in that exaust system you talked about and the mufler you talked about for $30 (I'd say that's a POS). First off 3" pipes is usually the best, for sound and power. Anything over 3" in a gasoline engine and you won't notice a large difference. Next Flowmaster, Flowmaster, Flowmaster. Nothing flows better other than straight pipes (and mabye a glass pack). Now, if your exaust flows faster than, I'm tempted to say a ford but my lawn mower can go faster than 0kph broken on the side of the road..... Anyway back to the point, the great exaust needs a good intake, otherwise its pointless. It'd be like using a funnel backwards.

The gains you'll get from the intake and exaust work are:

-more power and torque
-That great beefy sound
-Better gas milage.

Personally with a dodge truck, after the whole ignition system I'd do the intake and exaust.
