Subject: Warm starts on cold days...

Hi all,

My Dakota is causing me confusion again! When the engine's cold or the temperature outside is in the mid fifties (12C+) or higher it starts up just fine. On cold mornings and the such if the engine has cooled down the engine again starts flawlessly. But when it's cold outside and the engine's still warm it will start, rev higher than usual, and then drop down past idle to nothingness. Any ideas? I just replaced my thermostat (albeit it looks like I have a 160 instead of the 180 for some reason) so that's not it. Temp gauge doesn't suggest a temp sensor problem. New battery. What the heck??
