Time to replace the one I have now on my 98 3.9. Anyone got any suggestions on a top quality replacement?

what the dealers sell is crapola-- I use my dak for 5 hours per day at low speeds almost always between 1000 to 2000 rpm with the OD turned off-- and at 75k miles I am on the third water pump/fan clutch setup- the accessorie drive belt tensioner is also a POS -- together with the 4th set of lower ball joints and the now 2nd set of complete new upper control arms/ball joints and on and on-- get after mkt only -- mine is a 98 v6

Mines a 98 V-6 and I've never owned a better truck. Yeah, a little more power would be nice but I haven't had near the problems you've had lelandgrant. Flowcooler makes a nice pump. They're around.

Wouldn't want any other!

Why take a chance with an aftermarket one? The factory one lasted 5 years. I think that is pretty good don't you?

If you knew how to read you would understand that I did not say that factory parts last longer than aftermarket parts. It is quite possible that they do. It is also possible that it will not. The factory pump lasted 5 years. If another factory pump lasts 5 more years the truck will probably be gone then anyways. I bought a Milodon and the frigen thing was made in China. My Mustang ran hotter with the Milodon than the Ford one I was replacing. I bought another Motorsport pump and it ran cooler. In my 24 years of modifying cars I have found that factory parts are usually best for maintenance type things alternators, radiators, waterpumps and so forth. They are designed for the vehicle and always fit properly.

Flowkoolers are supposed to be excellent.
They also cost around $130 US :(
I ended up getting a brand new Airtex pump off
ebay for $40, it was highly recommended as a
really durable pump. I sold the stock one off
my 360 with only 60,000 miles on it, in good
shape on ebay and only got $15 for it.
