I have a '88 Dakota Sport 3.9L auto. It has about 187,000 miles on it. The problem started when I exited the highway and came to a complete stop, the idle was very rough, kinda like a V8 with a big cam. The idle use to be fairly smooth. My overdrive doesn't work on my tranny and I was doing about 60-65mph and I have a 3.90 rear axle. With the excessive RPM and the high mileage do you think my timing chain jumped a tooth?
