I wouldn't exactly call this thing a "cold-air" intake, but its home brewed and works! (not to mention sounds kinda nice @2500 RPM and up)

3" Black ABS drainage pipe and a 45° elbow. I used Fernco Drain couplers to make the connections.

RE-0810. Only problem I have with that is that it has a rubber inlet. If you can find one with a plastic inlet, it would be better. Mine works, but something about the rubber inlet to me seems like its gonna come loose from that fernco some time. But, it hasn't yet for 9 months, and thats after some pretty bumpy rides!!

I grab cold air right off the hood through a scoop

and blow it down a 14X3 K&N Exstream top the
reason I have the rest open is I have plugs
that I put in when it rains or snows here.

Than I just draw inside air have removed plastic
piece in front of origanal intake tube you can
tell the differance when they are in.

Put a temp sensor with radio shack thermometer
under air cleanner and it drops the temp from
120 to out side air temp so I know this works.

I am also stroked custom cam and ASE Chip

Any heat problems with the ABS Drainage tubing used in your home brew intake?

Try this this type of intake. It sucks in true cold air. Only thing is that you have to cut a 3 inch hole in the metal.

John 93, I haven't had any problems as of yet. Thats some heavy duty stuff, I doubt I'll see any problems. I installed it in September of last year, so It has yet to see the dog days of summer. We'll see how that goes soon!!!!
