Right now I have an Intense Intake and the Dynomax 17748 muffler installed. I have heard really good things about the F&B TB, I have done some researching and this is the TB I am going to buy if I get a TB.

My question is, is the performance really noticeable after a F&B install? After I installed the Autolites, the intake, and the dynomax, I noticed that I had more get up and go and could take hills easier as well as pass much better on the highway, but if I had to rate the performance, I would rate it as an average. Anyone who has installed an F&B, how would you describe the performance you received after installing it with an intake and a more free flowing exhaust?

Thanks all!

Well you V6 Dak won't need the cfm the F&B can do unless it revs to 9000rpms...so the price is only worth it if you want bragging rights to say you have an F&B TB.

OK, what I guess I am really asking is, regardless of the cost of the TB, is it worth porting/buying a V8 TB/buying a fastman TB or are the gains not very noticeable?

If I am not going to notice a nice performance boost then I will stay stock.

02SXT4x4, I have the same mods as you, intake and exhaust, and can take you for a fact that by adding a V8 TB (or the any other one) that you will DEFINETLY be able to tell the difference. Will you be able to blow away anything on the street......NO. Will you have a better performing and much more fun truck......YES.

Thanks Dukie57, that's what I was looking for. Yeah, I am definitely not looking to blow away anything on the road, I could care less about racing my 4x4, it is what it is...a 4x4 truck. Just looking to add a little more fun to it.

Think I'll order in one tonight.

I have a F&B throttle body on my engine and it did make a big difference. I'm not saying that porting won't make a difference too, but unless you can do it right, you won't get the maximun possible gain. The F&B's are nice looking units too. I have a few more mods to take advantage of the F&B. If you plan to do more, it may not be that much over kill.

V8 TB good
46mm Fastman better
48mm F&B best.

I have tried them all and the F&B is the best
hands down.

Off idle response and more low end and more power
through out the whole RPM range is what you get
from a better TB
