Go to tirerack.com i bought tires from them and even with shipping it was cheaper that i can get them through my dealer even with my employee discount. I needed something bigger so i got (4) 275/55/r15 (won't fit on stock rim) Dunlop GT Qualifiers for only $235 shipped. Your probably looking at about $10-$15 a tire to have them mounted and balanced.

I got 275/60R15 on my 2000 SLT and they were 75 bux a tire mounted and balanced. Kaffman Tire. They are something like 28 inchs tall and about 9-10 inches wide. Great traction all around with them.

hey red..

Yes you can use 255/55/15 as a substitute. The only difference in that is that the tire will not be as tall. So your truck will sit a little lower.

Hey.. I got a good tire story for everyone...

I bought my 1997 Dakota in June of 99. It had 22,000 miles on it when I bought it. I decided to replace the stock tires, Goodyear Eagle LS's, with new tires just to be safe. So, I got 4 Goodyear Wrangle RT/S 's (235/75/15), this cost me about $400 bucks. After only 8,000 miles with these tires they were bald!!!! I'm talking like 1/32nd's tread left on them. They looked like slicks! I went back to the Goodyear Dealership and they said that they would not replace them. Then I asked them about my warranty and they gave me some crap that I didn't have one. They only warranty I had was a warranty on the belts or something like that. I was so pissed off. From now on I will not buy a pair of Goodyears unless then are the Eagle #1's (Nascar tire). Right now I have 4 Discover Cooper's (235/75/15). They have done me good for about 20,000 miles now. They look brand new. I still have a good 20,000-30,000 left on them. I would definately recommend them to anyone.

Wondering??

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 8,000 miles blew a goodyear
and they said a new tire was $160 and they would
pay half, went to goodyear dealer and the tire was
only $90 and they would not warantee it on a brand
new truck.

went and bought some BF Goodridge tires and threw
the good years away.

cooper or BF Goodridge stay away from goodyear
they do not stand up to there warantees.

I Agree the Stock Goodyear's are worthless, Not only are they horrible on mileage wear but they give you close to ZERO traction on anything other than dry pavement.

I bought my truck "Previously experienced" with some worn out Goodyear Wrangler A/T's on the front and some bad Goodyear GS/A's on the back. I used the Wal-mart brand "Liberator A/T" on my jeep with good success so I put them on my truck too. LT235/75/R15 run $79 tire mounted and balanced, Good treadwear, quiet on the highway and love the traction! (also helps to have a locked rear).

Best thing Goodyears are for it to be shredded up and turned into High School running tracks.
