go with the 3.93 gears... that will be your best streetable option i think. as far as computers, if you can find one, go w/ the mopar performance PCM for the v6 (and let me know where you found it!)otherwise it looks like everyone's going w/ a jet stage II or III chip, although i have used neither and don't really plan to.

There is no Mopar PCM for the 3.9L's. You will have to get a Jet Chip if you want to change the computer. Also you will want to go with the 3.91's or 4.11's for your gears. I sell both of them on my website check it out.

There was a performance computer for the v6's but only for the 92-93 models although the computer will work on 94 and 95. other than jet chip, you can always check into a custom flash.

This just proves this guy is just out to make a profit and not actually help the dodge consumers. Great job ryan, thanks..... The jet chip does provide small results on the 3.9L but is not nearly worth what they charge for it. If no need to have a question answered dont ask a guy who is just trying to make a dollar. What year is your truck? If it is a 92 to 95 you can get a mopar performance computer. If its a 96 and up go with an ase chip www.asechips.com . If the truck is a 98 and up you can go with a superchips micro tuner that will be released very shortly. For the auto transmission I suggest a 4.10:1 ratio ring and pinion. Check out www.4wheelparts.com for a good price on the gears and install kit.

Well Mr. Anonymous I dont think you acutally know what YOU'RE talking about. The jet chip doesnt help our trucks out as much as they should, but they do help out enough for their price. There have been several people that have tested their Jet Chip out at the track. Every single one of them has gained .2-.3 tenths in the 1/4 mile. Now I dont know about you, but for $195 I would say that .2-.3 tenths is worth every penny. What would you say?

p.s. I also have access to the new superchips programmers that are coming out so why would I not tell him about them? Becuase NO ONE knows if they will work or not. Why are you promoting them when you have no idea of how good the product is? If you dont have any proof of what they can do with our v6's why suggest them??

Ok Mr v8performance, show me someone with solid proof that a jet chip has given them a solid 2 to 3 tenths in the 1/4 mile. I assume your ignorant ass means 2 to 3 tenths and not .2 to .3 tenths as you typed, that would be .02 to .03 which is basically nothing. I've heard numerous testimonials as well as testing it on my truck at the track and watching the timing and fuel via a drb scanner with no significant changes in performance.

Superchips on the other hand is a company that is well researched into the dodge ecu programing. They had the access to the actual Diamler Chrysler codes and base programming to develope the micro tuner. Which jet did not. there is no way something as generic as the jet chip can produce powergains. Look at all the reputable shops such as KRc and the former speedtweaks. Marty from KRC is arguably the smartest guy in the magnum engine game today. Through his extensive research and testing he has found the jet chip to be useless and refuses to carry it. The previos superchips pcm flashes and more recently, the earlier versions of the 318/360 micro tuner have put down solid dyno numbers. In many cases putting down more power than a mopar pcm for that particular applications.

You need to go get some hands on knowledge under your belt to be able to reccomend performance combos to people. Business flurishes on repeat customers. Your out for the initial sale only. When you start selling people non performing crap like the jet chip, they arent gonna come back to you for more

Yes, it is a 42re. Your truck has a 3.55 ring and pinion set inside of an 8.25 rear axel. This rear end combo was the most common one in dakotas.

for a v6 x-cab auto, i'd go with 4.10's. that's what i put in my 95. made a BIG difference. gas milage didn't suffer notibly. but i don't do much interstate. but the auto has a .69 OD ratio as well as a lockup converter so the 4.10's are not bad on the interstate. i'd go with 4.10's.
