I would like an opinion or two on my intake and truck if anyone has a minute to spare. MY intake filter sits in the fender and not too far away from the opening of the bottom of the bumper. Will the rain at all affect it being that low to the ground? Here is the link to my pics....

like the truck, it reminds me of my own before the new paint job except mine where switched in colors. it shouldnt be too big of problem with the filte that low as long as you don't go through some huge puddles. you could always fab up a plastic piece to go on the underside of the filter. but the truck looks good, just need to drop it down, my 2 cents

Thanks for the opinion and comment. I try my best to keep the truck looking clean and running strong. I want to remove the clutch fan and put a blackmagic 150, but I dunno if the gains in this mod are worth 200 bucks. Anyone know from experience?

Troy,

Just take your clutch fan off & see for yourself before dropping the bucks on an electric. You won't hurt the truck as long as you don't sit in traffic. Take the fan with you if you're worried about it...really easy to thread back on and it doesn't have to be tight. Just be careful not to strip the threads, which is pretty easy to do (as I found out first-hand...had to break out a couple of files & recreate the threads...woops).

I recently did this and I couldn't really notice any difference. I drove around for a few days w/o the clutch fan and ended up putting it back on. Throttle response *might* have been slightly better, but only marginally if at all. Of course, if I'd spent $200 on an electric fan, I'm sure I'd notice some nice gains ;)
