Hello,

Ok. So, I gotta do a tune up on the old 2001 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 4x4 3.9L V6.

My questions:

1) Best spark plugs to use
2) Best spark wires to use
3) Best rotor/cap comination
4) Best pads for use with slotted rotors

Thanks in advance for any help.

autolite 5224 or champian truck plug .040 gap
don't go colder on the plugs you will lose milage
unless you have other mods.

Some say the 3923 which is colder and does not
have the extended tip. In my truck and customers
they did not show any gains in milage but a loss
in mpg and low end. good for high revs not normal
driving.

Get a cap and rotor at NAPA they are the same as
borg warnner with brass inserts.

I run the MSD 8.5 wires they are about the same
price as a regular set summitracing.com

Any brake pad will work the higher quality pads
will last longer.

Auto Zone will have everything you need.

You have to ask for the 5224 Autolite plugs
they will list the 3924 for your truck which
is ok just not an extended tip the 5224's
will run better.

They sell the Wells brand cap and rotor that is
also ok because you are not running an aftermarket
IGN.

A good tune up does wonders. I am running the
wells cap and rotor on my truck right now with a
MSD IGN.

You can also run stock wire set.

Get there next up brake pad not the $9.99 one
I think its like $18 but will last longer.

You could order online from autozone but than you
have to pay shipping.
