I've seen a lot of posts about these and searched but found no specific explanaions. What exactly will replacing these do, what gains and also what losses i can expect and if you got a link to a site for these, that would be sweet, Thanks

The stock friction rocker is 1.6 ratio.. The Crower 1.7s raise the lift (act like a higher lift cam), plus are roller tip-- reduced friction. You should expect anywhere from 10-15 rwhp, and approx 1-15 ft. lbs of torque (rearwheel)--- for some these are conservative numbers--- Every truck is different-- but there's no appreciable loss with these--

You'll need to modifiy your valve covers to clear the new studs-- (knocking in the oil baffles). I can provide modified covers, powdercoated for $100 exchange for your old covers...

I have the 1.7s on my website---

u guys are all a$$holes, i just got my frigan truck and am learning piece by piece how to hook it up. All i asked for was help, not a bunch of d*ckheads to respond. If you don't have help then dont respond. This is a site for dakota enthusiasts so stop being fags and help out, or else shut ur frigan mouths. Oh yea, and u guys r really tough over the internet. That says a lot

It took me about 2 hours but I do this stuff for a living.

You have to bend the baffles in your valve covers to clear
the studs. short 2X4 with hammer be sure the ends
remain open a little for oil to flow in from the filler cap
and the PCV works properly.

Line up TDC on the vibration damper both valves on
#1 closed. tighten down until push rod is just tight
than 1/2 to 3/4 turn more I have been going 3/4 on
all the installs with very good results.

You should have all the plugs out now just go down the
firing order 165432 just put a small screw driver in the
next cyl in the order and move it to its TDC position.
Put it in the #1 hole and you will feel the piston at top,
this will give you an idea when the cyl you are working
on is at top. Mark the screw driver with tape so you can
use it for reference. next next, done.

start and idle for a minit shut off and repeat a few times
and all should be well.

Button it up and go drive your truck you will notice them
from around 1800 on up

Unlike some I am here to help and have been in business
since 1972
