I heard this from a pretty trusty source, a 65 year old guy whos been building race cars and has owned his own shop saying that if i put a v8 tb on my 3.9 that it will burn up the engine faster and isnt a good idea. i just wanted to see what you guys all thought

The only thing that i can figure he is thinking is the xtra air will lean out the mixture. Lean the mixture too much and you can count on burning a piston. Now for the good news as long as you dont go nuts with the mods the stock fuel system and engine controler will be able to take care of the xtra air by adding xtra fuel.

Hope this helps

Andy

The old guy sonds like he means well but you have to think...if high performance parts "burn up" engines then companies like Summit, Jegs, K&N etc... would have alot of law suits on their hands.

Just like the others said, V8 tb is providing more air and the PCM compensates with more fuel. Long as you have the proper ratio of air to fuel you WILL NOT burn up your engine and the PCM keeps that in check.

On the other hand the extra power will probably feel so good you will be harder on your Dak but not many people are harder on a Dak than I and mine hasent "burnt up".

I run an F&B flowing 660cfm over a V8 TB that
flows around 635cfm.

No it will not burn up your engine the computer
will read more air on the o2 and increase the
fuel to compensate thus same air fuel ratio.

more volume thus more power
