Ive had trouble the last four months with cold starts. If i turn on the ignition once or twice (prime) before i turn it over, it starts alot easier. Checked fuel pressure, its good while running, but drops quickly once shut off. Think it may be the filter/regulator? any ideas. THANKS

Your fuel system should maintain pressure for at least a few hours after it shuts off. There are a few places where you could be losing pressure:

1) the fuel pump has a check valve that is supposed to hold pressure in the system. That check valve can stick open and let pressure bleed back into the tank.

2)you can have an injector sticking and leaking fuel into a cylinder

3) The regulator might be allowing fuel to return to the tank.

I am not to familer with the fuel system layout on your truck but you basically need to clamp off the rubber hoses at certain spots with the gauge hooked up. For instance if you clamp off the return line coming out of the regulator and the pressure doesn't drop its a bad regulator. If it still drops its either injectors or the fuel pump, so you clamp off the pressure line. If it doesn't drop its an injector, if it still drops it's probably the pump.
