I am concidering a cold air intake by K&N for my 02 Quad with the 3.9. Is it worth the time & $$? For those that have tried it, What kind of impact did it have in MPG and throttle response? I refuse to allow my wife to pass me in our 01 Grand Caravan Sport.

Better get use to it, I don't know why Dodge put the 3.9 in the quad cab as a base engine (especially a 4x4) I'm sorry but the engine has no balls sure it will get you from point A to B and get decent mpg (but not much better than the 4.7) By the time you've spent 1k for a mod here and a mod there you will think I should have got the V8.

Now to answer your questions.

Is it worth the time & $$?---No, but it looks nice

What kind of impact did it have in MPG ---None that I seen

throttle response?---Maybe a little, the sucking sound is cool

I agree with DakotaDan.

I have a 2002 4x4 CC Auto SXT, overall I love the truck, could it have more balls, yes. I added an intense performance stage II intake, a dynomax muffler(thanks to DakotaDan by the way) and Autolite Platinums (AP3923). While there is no massive increase in performance, I honestly did gain better throttle response and smoother acceleration. It opened the 3.9L up just enough to be very satifactory. I am going to get a F&B throttle body soon, then I will most likely be done modding the engine, as I am very pleased already with my 3.9

I put the FIPK on my 3.9. I noticed a smoother
acceleration when flooring it up a hill as well as better
gas mileage on extended trips (drove to Mammoth from
Los Angeles with gas to spare!). Anyway, more air in
and more air out is going to be better for the engine. I
would get one, as far as which brand? Who knows, they
all work the same IMO!
