 Subject: parking brake cable

I have a 95 dakota with a sticky (sometimes stuck) parking brake cable. I beleive it is a 3 piece system. Can someone tell me which section typically goes bad? Also, does anyone know if Dodge has a recall on it? tx -tom

I just had to replace my parking brake cables on my 1994, when I had the rear brake shoes replaced. I had to replace the cable that goes from the pedal to the intermediate cable, and the two rear cables that go into the rear drums. the intermediate cable was fine. These cables just get rusty, and if you dong engage them it only makes it worse. I got the rear cables at a local part store for like 15 bucks a piece and the pedal cable from the dodge dealership for like 30 bucks.
