i have a 1999 dakota s/b 3.9v6 what is the fuel tank capacity.what kind of range should i get out of a tank of gas driving in a normal manner.

15 or 22 gallons i have the 15 and i get about 170miles from full till the gas light comes on thats only about 10gallons though

It mught be a thing with my truck being a 2000, but I am pretty sure that the 96+ model trucks have a standard 22 gallon tank and a optional 24 gallon tank.

had to be after 96 if they did that.
My truck is a 96 and has the optional 22 gallon tank (and that was as big as we could get then). Just a thought, I could be wrong though.

I have a 2002 with 22 gallon tank. I get about 240-255 miles or so on 15/16 gallons usually.

i have a 94 dakota, and i think mine is the 15 gallon..i can go about 210-215 on a full tank to the fuel light, with or without my foot in it, it gets about the same...

Well, im pretty sure my 2000 has the 22 gal tank, the fuel light comes on and I drive it for a bit. Fill it up with about 16 gals. Does that mean I still have 6 gals in the tank when the low fuel light is on!!??? Jeez, i could drive alot more with the low fuel light on....lol
I get about 220-245 on about 16 gals depending on how i drive it.

I've got a 2000 Quad Cab 3.9 with the 24 gallon tank. I've gone up to around 330 before filling it. I'd say you could get a bit more but I don't like to tempt fate that way.

I just filled up tonight, about 10 miles after the light went on. Put 15.9 gallons in and got 240 somthing outta it...ehehehe, that less than 16 mpg....grrr wtf have i been doin to drop that much...ahh well

I have a 93 dakota 3.9L V6 with a 15 gal tank and i got about 280 before i had to fill it up.

I have 99 Dak 5.2 V-8 club cab auto trans....
I can, on the highway, get 375 miles with 22 gallon tank...local I generally get around 300 miles

I have a 94 Dak Sport with a 3.9l and a 5 speed I average about 290-310 every tank refill about 15 to 16 gallons. I have gone as far as 370 with the low fuel light coming on to refill at 18 gallons.

You may be surprised at how much fuel you actually have left when the needle is on empty. To find out, check your owner's manual for the exact volume of your fuel tank. Then, the next time your needle shows empty, find the nearest gas station and fill 'er up. Subtract the number of gallons it takes to fill your tank from the volume stated in the owner's manual, and you'll know just how much farther you can go when the gauge hits empty.

.....and then when the fuel guage begins to read slightly OFF, then you can run out of fuel because you pushed it toooooo far.

i thought it was kind of crazy when i drove my 04 v8 for 15 miles after the light came on then i filled it and it only took 15.9 gallons i didn't think there was anyway i still had 6 gallons left in the tank but i guess so from what ive read here.

i do not have a owners manual the fuel pump needs to be replaced is there something on the vin nubers that would tell me the fuel tank capacity there are two fuel pumps for this
